What do you recommend in terms of approaching Whole Foods and other retailers with like-minded people who are concerned about justice for food producers and workers?
Email is firstname.lastname@example.org
Address of online interactive platform?
Are you including Trader Joe's under Aldi?
TJ's is actually not owned by Aldi, which is something our research revealed. We thought there was a connection but they are separate.
I'm sorry, I haven't been able to see/hear it all today--will watch later. Is it possible to prepare some materials which people can use for tabling outside Whole Foods, at farmers' markets, and other venues?
Hello! For those who are interested in webinar recordings, other content, and connecting to other members of Equal Exchange here is the link: https://forum.equalexchange.coop/
Keep in mind this will only work if you are a member
You may have already addressed Starbucks, and their very minimal commitment to Fair Trade, and maximal PR use they make of it. We should be educating people there as well. (Though I ONLY drink Equal Exchange coffee!)
email@example.com -- please email us for questions and how to get more involved!
Eliza, our campaign isn't focused on Starbucks but definitely something we should consider if we ever engage the company in other aspects of work.
I want to thank Equal Exchange and Oxfam SO MUCH for your commitment to these issues and activism.
Are individual companies being rated by your organizations? For example, Newman's Own?
Feel free to answer yes to our poll and we can send more information on our annual event of the year
You may already have addressed this--Is there a list of ingredients to always avoid? E.G. Palm oil
Sorry, too much noise here to ask verbally!
Eliza, we don't go into what foods to avoid but we do have initiatives that push for sustainability in commodities like palm
Please send the group chat to us all too! Thank you!
Thanks to everyone for those excellent questions and your support!
You two organizations seriously give me hope for the world.
